Senior Living In Central Virginia

 Medical Care

It's no surprise that Kiplinger's Personal Finance singled out Charlottesville as “one of the healthiest places to live in America.” Aside from clean air and water, opportunities for exercise and stress relief, and a low crime rate, our area boasts several first–rate medical centers.

The University of Virginia Health System is among the nation's leading medical facilities. The UVa hospital ranks among the top 50 of U.S. News & World Report's famed “Top 100 Hospitals,” with several departments ranked in the top 25: Cancer; ear, nose and throat; hormonal disorders; urology; and gynecology. No wonder American Health magazine identified Charlottesville as “one of the 10 Healthiest Cities for Women.”

Martha Jefferson Hospital is a not-for-profit community hospital that was founded in 1903 by seven community physicians interested in providing quality, personalized healthcare to the residents of Charlottesville. Today, the hospital serves an eight county region and offers the latest in medical and surgical treatments for a wide variety of needs. Their services include leading care in cancer, cardiology, digestive disorders, women's health, orthopedics and many more.

In the Valley, an extraordinary new facility is quickly emerging as a leader in health care: Established in 1994, Augusta Medical Center has already attained U.S. News & World Report‹s “Top 100 Hospitals” status in several categories, including geriatrics, digestive disorders, and hormonal disorders.
The relatively new Seniors Real Estate Specialist designation (SRES), conferred by Senior Advantage Real Estate Services, was created to show an agent's commitment to and interest in senior housing issues.

The SRES Council trains realtors to meet the special needs of maturing Americans when selling, buying, relocating, or refinancing residential or investment properties.
The Council tracks senior-specific lifestyle and housing issues and educates realtors who are making clients age 55-plus a part of their overall business plan.
By earning the SRES designation, realtors are prepared to approach mature clientele with the best options and information for them to make life-changing decisions.

Education

A two-day training program offered the unique opportunity to learn and build key skills in counseling seniors through selling their family home, buying rental property, or moving to a senior community, among many other issues.

Knowledge

In addition to guiding clients to the right experts on tax laws, probate, estate planning, and a variety of equity conversion strategies, Seniors Real Estate Specialists can offer clients relevant information on current trends in senior real estate transactions.
